Lodging

Act soon to reserve lodging at Snowbird. Reservations can be made on the phone (+1-800-232-9542) by mentioning that you are with the “IEEE Signal Processing Society”; a block of rooms are available under this name, or group code “2B66J7”. The cut off date for the block of rooms is July 16, at 5:00 pm MT. Unfortunately, online reservation has been failing, and may not work for you. If you do not wish to call, you can fill out a lodging request form. Credit card numbers will be accepted via fax only at 1-801-947-8227. If the form is emailed to lodging@snowbird.com (rather than faxed), a Snowbird representative will contact you by phone within 24 hours to take credit card payment. The negotiated rate of $119 (plus tax) is a very good rate and we recommend staying here, it is essentially the only lodging within walking distance of the workshop.

If you are interested in sharing a hotel room with a person of the same gender, contact Brian Jeffs, who will act as an intermediary to connect the interested people together.

If this block of rooms runs out, or if you should desire, there are a variety of hotel options are available within a 25-30 minute drive in Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, Sandy, or Draper.

Snowbird has easy access from Salt Lake City and its international airport.  The resort is a 45 minute drive from Salt Lake International Airport. Google maps provides good driving directions to the resort. In short, from the airport, drive on I-80 East, take Exit 128 onto I-215 South. Then take Exit 6 for 6200 South, and take a left onto 6200 South. Follow this road (it turns into UT-210) for 12 miles, and turn right into Snowbird at Entry 2 for the Cliff Lodge.

There is a shuttle service from the airport to the resort run by Canyon Transportation. It is USD $76 round trip, or $72 if reserved via Snowbird Lodging with your room reservation. You can reserve your shuttle by calling 1-801-255-1841. There is also a bus to Snowbird from the 7200 S Trax (train) station ($4.50 one way), but it makes only one trip to Snowbird (at 6:50am), and one trip back to the Trax station (at 5:15pm), per day.
